Discover and the Featured wall are full of strangers. Inviting is how you get someone you actually know onto fewer.photos.
Go to Invite friends, from the account menu or from Settings. Type or paste up to five email addresses — commas, spaces or new lines all work, and pasting straight out of a contacts app or a mail client is fine.
What They Receive
An email that clearly comes from you: your handle, your bio, and three of your recent frames. Underneath, one line explaining what the app is, and a link.
The photographs are the point. Somebody who has never heard of fewer.photos has no reason to care about a cycle, and every reason to look at your pictures.
Only your public frames go in. If your account is private, or if the frames you’ve posted lately are, the invite goes out with your name and no photographs. It still works; it’s just quieter.
There’s no message field. Nothing your friend receives is text you typed, which is what keeps invites from becoming a way to send anything to anyone.
When They Join
They sign in with the address you invited, the same passwordless link everyone uses. From that moment you follow each other, and a notification arrives telling you they’re here, with a link to their new profile.
If your account is private, their follow is approved automatically. You invited them — being asked to confirm that afterwards would be strange.
The connection is tied to the email address, not to the link. Open the invite on your phone and finish signing in on a laptop and it still works. Forward the invite to somebody else and it won’t connect you to them — they’ll get an account, and that’s all.
Invites are good for 30 days.
If They’re Already Here
Sometimes the address you type belongs to someone who signed up months ago. We tell you, and we let them know you were looking for them, with a link to your profile. That message goes out once and never again.
Nothing follows anyone in that case. They decide.
How Many You Get
Five per send, ten a week. The weekly allowance refills as the days roll past.
The same address won’t be emailed twice by you inside a day, however many invites you have left. An invitation that arrives three times isn’t more persuasive.
If someone you invited hasn’t joined, the list on the Invite friends page says “Invited” and the date, and nothing else. No reminders, no nudges, no count of how long it’s been. They don’t owe you anything.
