Why this exists
A playlist is a list. A mixtape was an object.
Sending someone a playlist link is efficient and completely forgettable. A mixtape took an afternoon: choosing the order, writing the label, picking the shell. The effort was the message, and the object carried it.
Rock or Pop puts the object back. Paste a YouTube playlist and it becomes a cassette you can choose the cover, colour, and background for, and write a label on. The reels turn while it plays and the spools shift as the tape runs out.
The whole tape is described by its own link, so there is no account and nothing to save. Send the URL and the other person gets your cassette, exactly as you made it.

Play, pause, skip. The left spool shrinks and the right one grows as the tape plays, so progress is something you watch rather than read.
Shared as a link
The URL carries the whole tape. Paste it anywhere and the preview shows your cassette, not a generic thumbnail.

What do I need to make a tape?
A YouTube playlist URL. Rock or Pop accepts standard playlist links, video-with-playlist links, and short URLs. Paste one and it becomes a cassette.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up and nothing to install. A tape is described entirely by its own link, so sharing the link shares the tape.
