fewer.photos is built around a single limit: one frame every eight hours. The reasoning behind it is on Cycles and the Featured Wall.
Signing In
fewer.photos is a web app — there is nothing to install. Go to fewer.photos and enter your email. We send a magic link; click it and you’re in. There is no password to set or remember. If you don’t already have an account, the first magic link creates one.
Keeping It on Your Phone
There’s still no app to download, but you can put fewer.photos on your home screen and it behaves like one — its own icon, and no browser bars around it.
On iPhone, open fewer.photos in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. On Android, open it in Chrome and choose Install app or Add to Home screen from the menu. Either way you get the fewer icon rather than a screenshot of the page.
Pick a Handle
The first time you sign in, choose a handle. Handles are lowercase and are how people find and mention you. You can change it later in Settings, and add a profile photo there too. Until you do, your frames carry a colored initial.
Browse Discover and Follow People
Discover shows every frame on fewer.photos, newest first and unranked. Follow someone from their profile and their frames appear in your Home feed.
Accounts are public by default, and following one takes effect immediately. If someone has made their account private, following becomes a request they approve — see Privacy and Following.
Posting Your First Frame
You can post exactly one photo per eight-hour cycle. The upload page shows where you are in the current cycle and when the next one opens. Choose a photo, add a caption if you like — captions can include hashtags but not links — and post.
Beside the Post button is a choice of who can see it: Everyone or Followers only. It arrives already set to match your account. See Privacy and Following if you’d rather decide per frame.
Your Home Feed
Home shows the people you follow, and you, in the order the frames were posted, newest first. There is no ranking, no algorithm, and no infinite scroll. When you’ve seen everything since your last visit, you’re caught up.
Every frame opens into a page of its own, where likes and comments live, along with a share button that hands the frame to whatever your device uses for sharing, or copies the link if it doesn’t have one.
