ETExplorations into mathematics, fiction, and the human condition, built as software.
About the series
Most of what Field Bureau ships is a tool: a thing you reach for when you have a job to do. The ET series is different. These pieces start from a question (about a piece of mathematics, a Borges story, the way a deterministic rule produces something that feels alive) and the software is how we sit with the question long enough to see what comes out.
They tend to share a posture: a precise system at the bottom, an output too large to fully witness, and a human invited to wander through it. They are made to be experienced, not employed.
In the series
Mathematics: deterministic chaos
Nine strange attractors you can rotate, zoom, and listen to. The same deterministic equations that produce weather and traffic. Patterns that never repeat and never escape.
Fiction: the library of all possible icons
A warehouse of every 8×8 monochrome icon that can exist. Eighteen quintillion of them, addressable by coordinate. A finite take on Borges, walked one cell at a time.
Emergence: a flock that never rests
A 3D boids flock rendered live into an adaptive monospace ASCII grid. One murmuration of two temperaments, self-propelled so it never settles. Drag a hand through it and watch it heal.
New work lands when it's ready. There is no schedule.
