fewer.photos ("the App") is a hosted web application for sharing one photo every eight hours. This Privacy Policy explains what we store, where it runs, and what we don't do with your data.
What We Store, and Nothing More
We store the minimum needed to run the App: your email, the frames you post, and the likes and follows that make the feeds work. We don't run ads, sell data, or track you across the web.
fewer.photos stores the following data on our servers to provide the service:
What: The email address you sign in with
Purpose: Passwordless sign-in (magic links) and the notification emails you've opted into
Storage: Stored on our servers, never shown to other users
What: The frames you post and the captions you write for them
Purpose: Core functionality — the feeds are built from what you post
Storage: Images are stored in private storage on Vercel Blob and are not reachable by a direct URL — every request for an image goes through the App, which checks whether you're allowed to see it first. Captions and metadata are stored in our database
What: Which frames you've liked, who you follow and who follows you, whether each follow has been approved, your visibility settings, and your notification settings
Purpose: Powering Home, Featured, your notification emails, and deciding who can see your frames
Storage: Stored on our servers as part of your account
fewer.photos is a hosted service, built on a small set of named providers:
We don't run our own servers or data centers — these are the providers we use to host the service, and each handles only the data required for its part of the App.
We use Vercel Analytics to understand aggregate traffic to the App — page views and general usage patterns. It doesn't use cross-site tracking cookies and doesn't build a profile of you individually.
fewer.photos does not:
Accounts are public by default. A frame you post, and its caption, appears on your profile and in Discover, and its like count is public too, since like counts are what the Featured wall is built on.
You can make your account private in Settings. Your frames are then visible only to people whose follow request you've approved, and they stop appearing in Discover and stop being eligible for Featured. Individual frames can override the account setting in either direction, so a private account can still publish a single frame and a public account can hold one back.
Your handle, profile photo, and bio stay visible whichever setting you choose. Your follow list — who you follow and who follows you — is private and visible only to you.
Changing a frame to private stops the App serving it from that point on. It does not reach back into notification emails already delivered, which may still describe or link to it.
We send three kinds of notification email: someone liked your frame, someone followed you, and one of your frames made Featured. Each of the three can be switched off individually in Settings, independent of the others.
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Deletion is self-serve and permanent — it erases your account along with every frame, like, and follow associated with it. We don't retain a copy afterward.
fewer.photos is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
